

If an individual parcel's assessment is altered by the application of a Supervisor of Assessments factor only, there will not be an individual parcel assessment included in this legal publication. Publication: Name of newspaper that published the Assessor and Supervisor of Assessments individual assessment changes. During general reassessment years (20 for example), a change of assessment notice is mailed for each parcel. The date in this column refers to when the notice was mailed. Notice Mailing: Owners of property who's assessments were changed by means other than the global application of an equalization factor are mailed a change of assessment notice. The factor is applied to both the land and the improvement portion of the assessed value. Supervisor of Assessments Equalization Factor: The factor individual parcels were multiplied by to adjust the weighted three-year average level of assessment to the statutory level. Township Lockout Date: The date the Township Assessor completed updating their assessment information for the current tax year. If your motor vehicle assessment was reduced, you may have to notify the Assessor’s Office each year of the current condition of the vehicle on or about October 1.This chart was compiled to provide the following information: Your assessment reduction, if for real estate, is permanent, until the next revaluation, unless the property is improved. If your appeal is approved, you will receive notice indicating such approval with the amount of the assessment reduction. Any person, claiming to be aggrieved by the action of the Board of Assessment Appeals, may, within two months from the date of the mailing of the decision, appeal to the Superior Court. If your appeal is denied, you will receive notice indicating such denial. Hearings are also held in September, for motor vehicles only. Hearings are held in March and you will be notified, in writing, by the end of February, as to the date and time of your hearing.

Remember, you are appealing your assessment, not your taxes. Forms may be obtained from the Assessor’s Office. The deadline for filing an appeal application is February 20.
